A water-based scalp serum built on rosemary leaf extract, ginger root and Densidyl — a chlorella and spirulina complex. Two fluid ounces. Nothing in it came from an animal.

Is this hair serum halal?

Most scalp and hair serums fail on one ingredient: denatured alcohol. It is used as a carrier because it is cheap and it dries fast, and it appears on labels as alcohol denat., SD alcohol or ethanol. There is none in this formula — the carrier is water and glycerin.

The second thing worth checking on any serum is animal derivatives: keratin, silk protein and some peptides are animal-sourced. This one is entirely botanical and marine-algae based. Read the list below.

When to use it

The isha window — on a clean scalp, last thing. Leave it 1–2 hours before washing.

Suggested use

Apply a few drops directly to a clean scalp. Massage in with fingertips for 1–2 minutes. Do not wash hair for at least 1–2 hours after application.
