Is this peptide serum halal?
Two things to check on any peptide product, and this is worth learning because it applies well beyond us.
First, alcohol. Most scalp serums use denatured alcohol as a carrier — look for alcohol denat., SD alcohol or ethanol on the label. There is none here; the carrier is water and glycerin.
Second, where the peptides come from. Peptides can be animal-derived — keratin from wool or feathers, collagen peptides from hide. The ones in this formula are prefixed sh-, which denotes synthetic-human: they are produced by fermentation, not taken from an animal. That prefix is a genuinely useful thing to know when you are reading any skincare label.
